Soliloquy

I dreamt of an unconceivable villain:
A rose attacking the thorns,
Eviscerating the garden of Eden
Destroying peace long before the illusion
But the dream was torn to shreds
In fits of wild rage and hatred
Blood oozing from the crimson petals

As a hypnotizing ballad pulled me through the shadows
I sank into the darkness as it fell over my eyes
Fantasy brought melody to the weeping in the wind
Whispering a secret to me
Offering clarity within the deepening madness

That fatefull night
Time took my hand and lead me to a door
Forgetting my place, I stepped through
Disappeared into the wind
Waterlillies murmured delicate beauty
Into the silence of my soul
Urging me to forget my origin
And find shelter in the mystery
The lights flickered and then died
Just as the stars took their turn
Dominating the dangerous drama
As chance centered its wrath around me
I turned towards the unknown
Struggling with my fleeting sanity
Able to bear only so much chaos
Straining endlessly to hear the silence again*
